JDM Climate Control

I was wondering if anyone has or has installed/converted their American prelude's dial AC/Heat system to the JDM digital system. This includes 92 and up preludes, but most specifically the 97 and up. There was a digital JDM system on ebay last month for a 97-01 prelude for ~250 dollars. I was wondering what the quality, reliability, and skill/time required to install it was. Damn us Americans get the cut-down of most imported cars.

Re: JDM Climate Control

it's not that easy. it doesn't just plug in or anything like that. you actually have to pull the entire dash and reroute a ton of wires, and start up some new wirings that don't even exsist on usdm's. you also need the full wiring diagram for the jdm and usdm models. a buddy of mine did it, and it took him forever. and he ain't stupid.

Re: JDM Climate Control

yeah it's cool, he likes it, but he also had a really hard time with it, and i know it pissed him off a lot doing it. he works for a strickly import buisness, so he can fiddle with it all day, but still i couldn't tell you how much wire he spliced and respliced to get it right, b/c there are no clear intructions on it from what we could find.
