Supercharge Or Not....That Is The Question

Hey everyone. As you know I'm building a twin engine GTi golf. I purchased one of the Revell Crate Engine kits of a 283 small block chevrolet. It comes with two four barrel carbs or optional supercharger. This is the engine that will be in the rear of the car. Should I supercharge the back motor or just go with two 4 barrel holleys like the one in front will have?

I think a super charger would be sweet, but It would make more sense if both the motors were the same.

I think I would keep them the same, but I imagine it wouldn't matter. I'm not too familiar with the dynamics of a twin mill car. I'd say do what makes you happy in this case. It's your creation from the ground up; it's not like you're trying to put a couple carbs and a blower on top of an NSX motor.

heh heh...already did that Will. Then it got steped on because it rolled off the shelf.

Well, I'm going to think about it. maybe just some nice holley carbs with velocity stacks will do im not sure. Thanks for your input and interest Will and Budman.

Every twin engine car I have seen has similar powerbands on both engines, so I assume that you might want to try it. Since both engines use a linked throttle, one would have more power at a certain RPM range, causing possibly bad results.

Re: Supercharge Or Not....That Is The Question

thanks guys. but i only have one SC so, im guessing two 4 barrel holley carbs will have to do. Unless someone wants to give me one maybe (J/K). My nsx is long gone crushed and destroyed i threw it all away (before I was salvaging parts from destroyed cars. Well, nonetheless, two properly tuned 283 mouse motors in a golf would still haul ass right?
