Angry Fuel Gauge Reading

Brother filled up gas the other day and topped it off. Now for first time
gas gauge is pinned on full and is not moving. 96 with 4 cyl. Just plan on running it a few days then refilling to see if it will budge. Any suggestions

Re: Fuel Gauge Reading

You might want to check all the wiring going to the fuel tank / pump to make sure there are no loose or broken wires. Also, check the ground wire from the tank; it might have come loose.

where did he get the gas from? because texaco and shell have had bad gas with sulfer and it messes up the guages, just like you are having a problem with. if you did get the gas from shell or texaco they will pay to have the guage replaced.
