91 Euro 3.1 ignition module

I was told that the 3.1 and the 3100 are different engines and take different ignition modules. Is this correct? I thought they were the same engines.

well they kinda sorta are the same engines, inasmuch that both are 60* v6's displacing 3.1L, but the block of the 94+ models has changes, as well as heads and intake. various bolt on combos can be done. however, the 3.1 is not SFI, the 3100 is and while the ign modules look the same (albeit different locations on the motor) Im not convinced you can swap one to another due to hookup differences.
