Talking RX7 question

Hey Guys,
I am new to this forum and driving in general, don't worry about telling me not to race yet till i get more experience because that is what i plan on doing, wait a few years to start racing. I am gonna buy a 3rd Generation Rx7 soon and i was just wondering about a certain mod. I have always loved muscle cars especially Mopars, and i was just wondering, how hard would it be to put a Bug Catcher scoop attached to the induction system on a RX7? it would be mainly for looks, but it would probably serve some purpose wouldn't it?
I am new to cars so please go easy on me if i am completely wrong
Cheers,
Dean

Umm... they normally put them on muscle cars, i have never seen an import with one. If you have seen F&F ( I Hate that Movie!), there is one on the charger at the end. Its like a big metal intake thingy that opens when you rev the car. Hope that helps.

To understand why i'd like it, i'd like your opinion then.... I love the raw power, and the induction scoops of muscle cars.... But i am a fan of technology, so i love the handling and number of things you can do to an import, so i was looking for a mix in between..... that was the best thing i could come up with... got any ideas? It must sound stupid, but i don't want to be flamed about it (i'm not saying you have) thanks
p.s. thanks for the welcome

Re: RX7 question

One, It'll look like shit, and two, I doubt it would really even do anything for the car. Are you saying you want a blower or exposed throttle bodies, or just a hood scoop? Anyways, seeing that the RX-7 is a rotary, I dont even see how it would work to set it up like that

Re: RX7 question

it would be feasable to do unless it was a TT model and u did like the Subarus and put a top mount intercooler...but still...it won't look good...i personally like the stock look of rx-7's myself

Re: RX7 question

Honestly...no. Not really. And if you love Mopar and that stuff so much, but want Import like handling andd technology, why not get a Neon SRT? Or get a Supra or RX-7 and try to drop in one of the those engines (Im not a fan of domestic, so I dont know anythign about them)

Re: RX7 question

why don't you get a trans am and upgrade the handling as much as possible. you then have raw power and nice handling
