remote starter/alarm/keyless

I bought a 04 Taurus that does not have the keyless entry module. I wanted to install one and found many keyless/remote starter/alarm systems. Although I have read conflicting reports about installing a remote starter on a car with a coded key system. Has anybody installed one on an 04 and can help? Do I need a wiring diagram for the car?
