99 Suburban DVD HELP

Was wondering if anyone has or has had a DVD flip down unit installed in their Suburban. Where is the best location for it? Does it mount where the dome light goes? Is the kind that has the monitors that hook to the seats better? Any help appreciated.

I have the audiovox 10.5 inch DVD system installed in my 99 suburban. It mounts directly behind the overhead console and the player is installed under the rear driverside second seat. I have the rear air option so it's a little awkward watching it from the second seat but the third seat is great. If you want the info about this unit I can provide it to you.

Thanks, I would like any more info that you have. By the way, does your unit go where the dome light is?

No, it does not interfere with any of the installed equipment. Just a word of caution, I suggest professional installation if you have rear heat or air.

Thanks. I do have rear air. Any recommendations for an installer? Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. Oh, is it a problem loading DVD's beneath the 3rd seat?

Mine is installed under the second seat. Look around or ask the installer to find another location if possible because it can be a pain to set-up. Any competant installer can handle this but I would just check around for truck/rv after market shops.

i have a sweet in-dash Panisonic DVD/TV/MP3/Nav/ECT..in my 98'.i would like to know the easiest roof mount to install i was thinking of installing it in the very back so the second row can use that and put headrest monitors so the row directly behind the driver/passenger can use those...i have the headrest monitors (not installed yet) but i would also like to know the best quality for the fairest price for a 7-10inch roof mount....and does it really restrict you that much from seeing out of your rear view, not that i use it cause of my rear door config(2 doors not one).
