good exhaust for a 98' 2.2L S-10
I'm looking for a good exhaust system that increases horsepower, fuel economy, and sounds good. I either want a ricy sound or a deeper mellow sound...just not quiet and stock. Any suggestions on a good system would be very appreciated. Thanks!

I've had several different exhaust set-ups and the best i've found is run 2 1/2 pipe from the down pipe to a 40 series flowmaster muffler then either a turndown for louder deeper sound or side-pipe which is what i'm running right now. I took out the cat cause it stopped up and it sounds 10 times better but it still sounds good with it just not as loud

i was reading in the s10 special sport truck magazine, and in there i found that magnaflow makes a cat back that is supposed to be one of the best for the 2.2L . its supposed to have a deeper tone and bring some extra hp to your engine.

Re: good exhaust for a 98' 2.2L S-10
I'm running a cold air intake with aftermarket header and 2 1/2" pipe to a 40 Series Flowmaster and it definitely pepped up this weak little 2.2 and also sounds great!
