95 Camry Brake Light Problem

The light with lines by the back of the car is illuminated on the dashboard ( a brake light is out). I replaced the brake light that is on top of the trunk (inside the car), but that did not fix it. I checked all the lights in the rear. I count 9 bulbs total (the top one, plus 3 per side on the back, plus 2 bulbs used for reverse). All of these lights check out fine, but the indicator light still comes on when i hit the brake pedal twice. Any ideas? Am I missing a bulb somewhere?

Re: 95 Camry Brake Light Problem

it also ahppened to my camry ('93), twice. first time took it to a toyota place to have it fixed. it was a wiring problem. they rewired it, giving it daytime running lights (corner lights), for $400. then it happened again, this time did it independently, traced the wire from the trunk lid and saw they were exposed and shorted. you'll have to redo that part of the wiring.
