brakes

i have a 91 caravan and would like to convert the abs to normal non-antilock brakes using the brake system from a non-abs caravan
how hard would this be and which parts would i have to change?

thanx,
kyle

Re: brakes

First of all why would you want to do this modification anyway? Unless you are experiencing a huge problem with the antilock system it gives you much better control in panic stops as well as on icy roads. I also believe that if you try to change to a normal system you are going to run into a lot of problems with your computer system since the abs is tied to the computer in order to operate. You may be biting off more than you can chew with this project.
If you insist on changing this system over you would need a new master cylinder from a non-abs car, new proportioning valve, new brake lines, probably a new power brake booster to go along with the master cylinder, a new computer that is from a non-abs vehicle. You will also need to remove all the hardware associated with the current abs.
