Best Car Life

What's the best life you've ever seen on a car on one single non-rebuilt engine?

This can be a car you have owned, currently own, or have seen due to friends family etc.

List Year, make, model, and mileage

TIA

My parents use to own a 1987 Chevy Astro Van. When they sold it back in '98 it had about 180,000 miles on it and ran great. My dad ran into the guy about two years afterwards and said the van was up to 250,000 miles on it and still completely trouble free. If it hasn't been wrecked I would imagine its still running great and up to the high 300,000 miles.

Re: Best Car Life

289,000 --1982 bmw 320i. It broke cause my dad gave it to me as my first car and i decided i wanted to redline a near 20 year old car at the time at every gear change. busted a few roads..put in a new engine. it gets from point A to B, but not very quickly.

240,000 in my friends 87 honda accord, only repair ever was an alternator because he decided to throw a system in it. The car was given away to his cousin about two years ago and he is still driving it.

Also 210,000 in my other friends dad's 89 toyota tercel. Still ran fine but didn't have enough power to pull its own ass up hills anymore.

My teg has 160,000 ish miles but I beat the hell out of it and little things are starting to go.

Re: Best Car Life

So far from my own personal experience....Alex's Roadmaster (1992) is getting ready to hit 180,000 miles and still runs smoothly. Have had to replace little things like the rear axle and water pump, but everything under the hood is still stock/not rebuilt.

My sister's Prelude has something like 220 000km on it.

I've heard countless stories of Diesel Hiluxes in Africa with more than a million kays on em...

Re: Best Car Life

Mercedes Benz E Class (early-mid 90's) diesel taxi, in Germany- 560,000 km- that was about 5 years ago. The car's probably scrapped now though, German laws woluld make the car inefficient to run as a taxi. Either that or it's working as an upmarket taxi in Moscow

Re: Best Car Life

1969 Buick Electra 225 (Deuce and a quarter)

Had over 300000 miles on it when sold. Last saw it a year ago, the guy took off hard, lightly chirped the tires(Trust me, it'll light them up) and not one foul puff of exhaust came out of that thing. It may have 350000-400000 miles by now.
