Re: bars leak

If you need a fix for a blown head gasket you can use a can of K & W Block Sealer follow the directions exactly and it will work. I have used it on a Ford Taurus 3.8 works wonders if you really dont give a sh t about the car but need it to run.

Re: bars leak

bars leak makes soot pellets that will stop any coolant leak with no problems for a while. there hard to find though, i can somtimes find them at NAPA

i have a bad leak in my radiator, and ive been putting off fixing it because radiators are mega $$$, and i have better stuff to fix first (almost done with completley new suspension). i use the pellets and it goes from a bad leak to a few drips for a about a month to month and a half

dont ever get the aluminum shaving stuff, the stuff you want looks like giant gerbal food. gm actually puts a few in brand new cars to ensure the coolant doesn't leak. do not put it in the overflow tank, take off the line going to the radiator and put them in there, takes 5 minutes.

Re: bars leak

Hey mike95aurora....the radiator in my '95 was leaking at one of the plastic tanks, I can't recall offhand which one. Anyway, I removed the radiator and took it to the local radiator shop and they pressure tested it, replaced the leaking tank, rodded and flushed it for $70. A few months later, the other tank started leaking, and I again removed it and had it repaired as I had the first tank. Again, no problems since... New radiator quote was $600 from GM and about $400 Modine part.
