Car loses power and dies
I have a 99 Pontiac Firebird and few days back while I was driving, my car suddenly just died down. After waiting for 5 minutes, it re-started and I managed to take it to a gas station. At that point of time, I had 1/4 of the tank left. I filled the gas tank and it started to run fine. Whats the problem? Is it to do with the fuel filter or fuel pump? When I drive with the full tank it drives fine for now. I have driven about 50 miles after filling the full tank. Please advise.

Re: Car loses power and dies
It could be many things but the quickest and probably cheapest to try is a new fuel filter. On earlier models it was under the rear end but a haynes will tell you where to go to replace it. so will a search on Autozone's web site.

Re: Car loses power and dies
try higher octane, change your fuel filter,
and run some fuel injector cleaner in your tank. if this doenst do it for u, i recomend that you have a diagnostic check on the car.

Re: Car loses power and dies
Fuel pump could be weak,(more gas pump works easier)
But If it only happened once....?
