Wipers don't park
I have a different problem with my 1996 cavalier Z24.
Normally when I turn off the Windscreen wipers they park slightly under the bonnet. Now they are coming back up and parking straight up and down in front of me when i turn them off Anyone else had this problem and know the fix ? |

i took out the wiper transmission cuz i had the same problem, it isnt the wiper motor cuz it works just fine. But what it is is a tab of metal is supposed to hit a tab of plastic and park. So this tab is supposed to be spring loaded and mine is all floppy. I realize this cuz i went to the bone yard and picked up the whole assembly for 40 bucks. Checked out that tab and sure as well you know the tab was sprint loaded and now works just fine..

Re: Wipers don't park
They have had issues with the wiper switch on these cars since the late 80's. My 89 hasen't parked since 94 or so. One day I hit my turn signal, the wipers went up real slow, some smoke came out of the dash and that was it. Now I must turn them off at just the right time. Same on my 94, my brothers 84, and my buddies S-10. GM Quality and attention to Detail. :-)

i dont think its a switch problem. when you shut off the wipers they make one more swipe and then go right to the to as in up and down. and if you turn off wipers and try to push them down for u can see , they will turn on and go down then go back up and shut off.

Re: Wipers don't park
Yeah, I agree that does not sound like the switch.
