Vavle bent?

Hey, I'm new to this forum but not to automotive mechanics. Been working on my '99 rodeo 3.2/V6 2wd and think my valves may be bent. Recently changed the timing belt along with tesioner and water pump. It runs well until I reach @ 2800 RPM's, then the driver's side pistons start to misfire and when I run the engine with the fan belt on, the fanbelt tensioner starts to wobble and makes a loud noise. When I run the engine without the fan belt (which is what I did to make sure the timing was correct and the engine would start) it runs fine until it reaches 2800 RPM's and then it misfires. Checked compression and it's fine. Replaced the fan belt bracket & harmonic balancer, but still makes noise and the fanbelt tensioner continues to wobble. When I run egine, sometimes it sounds if the power steering roller is going to lock up and then the driver side pistons misfire. Anybody ever come across this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the timing is off
did you check compression on both left and right banks and if so what are you referring tto as ok
oh and if you did not replace the t-belt tensioner that could be the noise you are hearing and its possible timing may be off because of this
you cannot bend the valves on this one

I did replace the timing belt tensioner but the noise is still there. I had the dealer take a crack at it and the noise is still there. I thought the timing was off as well so I had the dealer reset the belt but they didn't have any luck either. They checked the compression and said it was fine. I have thought of everything else and can't come up with anything. I thought that maybe my setting the belt off-time may have somehow bent the valves. I this possible? It was working perfectly fine bfore and th eonly reason I changed the belt was because it had 98,000 miles on it and wanted so save myself some $$$. I've always worked on my cars myself and have done everything from changing body frames to overhauls, but on domestics, never an import. It's still not working and can't seem find a solution.

is there anyway that I can comfirm the timing is correct? I figured that if the engine started, the timing is correct?

Dont sweat the bent valve thing. If you did that, you would not be running at all. Like 2eye says, you have that cylinder bank off a few teeth (on the timing belt pulley). Dont keep running your truck this way or you will overload/foul that side's catalytic converter in no time from all the fuel loading. You pullies & tensioner is prolly jumping around from all the misfiring going on. It's a PITA, but pull the timing covers & check for proper timing agian.

Is there anyway that I can confirm that the timing is correct? On my other vehicles I could pull out the timing light and adjust as needed-can't do that with this. Is there another way or do I have to keep "resetting" the belt until it is right? The problem may be that when I try to set the belt on the last pulley the cam moves.
