94-97 Engine?

I'm lookin to build a high performance Bird with the mod 4.6, and I've got a couple of questions about interchangeability. First of all, I was wondering if it matters what engine is in the car I begin with, i.e. if I find a good deal on a 3.8 Bird, is it a straight conversion to a 4.6, or are the two incompatible? Also, if anyone happens to know of a good place to find a cheap Bird in any condition, could ya let me know? Thanks

Re: 94-97 Engine?

Yes and no on the straight up swap. It'll mount and bolt up to the tranny but the computer and wiring harness are completely different. Search the for sale forum at tccoa.com.
