Are Audi A4's Reliable?

My friend is selling a black A4 with around 80-90K miles, he has some mods done to it like rims, lowered, subs and stereo system, ps2, intake, exhaust, and other things. He is selling the car for $9,000. Its really clean but I dont know much about Audi's, are they reliable after 90K miles, and do they cost ALOT more to fix because they are imported? What would your overall opinion and score be on Audi A4's from 1-10(10 being highest)Thanks for the help!

P.S. Not sure of the year of A4, Ill post as soon as I found out.

1.8t or 2.8 and is awd.

I would not spend much extra for the mods

Re: Are Audi A4's Reliable?

DON'T get it, get a volkswagon. Audi's just cost more because of the name. they are slower, more prone to breakdown, and aren't really any nicer.

GET A PASSAT 1.8T and mod that.

Re: Are Audi A4's Reliable?

You first say don't get it, its a volkswagon and the you say get a passat, LOL. I would go for a Audi over a VW(either though thay're almost the same). Prone to break down? I have not really heard of many A4's Breaking down. Now haveing small probs, usually electricle yes but if i were to have to pick an engine German over a Jap(like your Prelude) i would takethe German made engine over that jap POS. i need torque

Re: Are Audi A4's Reliable?

I said don't get GET a VW, not ITS a VW. I know that they are built on the same platform, and yet the A4 seems to have far more problems than the Passat. (not to mention costing a significant amount more for the name). And as for the Prelude, it is Jap crap, hence why it is being sold. Well, IS sold as of yesterday. WOOHOO!!

Re: Are Audi A4's Reliable?

im sorry guys i deffinately disagree with the A4 having problems. acutually my friend volksvagen is notorious for having electrical problems, while audi is known for being a workhorse. dad had ove 250,000 miles on the A4 never had any major problems with the car what so ever. dont get me wrong i love VW, except for the bug, but vw has alot more problems than the Audi. i say deffinately get the audi youll be much happier, so will the ladies. the girls love a guy who drives an audi
