I had the same problems on a '93; one time fix, but a bit expensive. On my current '86, the two back windows quit on me (in the up position) and I've left them alone. All electric windows will go away eventually, but figure you've only got to replace them once.

Re: POwer windows cable problem 94 MG
Thanks.. I bought 2 window regulators (bracket, cable, slide the works) from the dealer $60 for the front and $50 for the rear. Took 2 of us 3 hours to install them, so it was not to bad. Glad it is done.
It was easy, on a 1 to 10 scale it was a 3. Hard part was getting the rivets out and reinstalling the glass. The motors were good, so I did not have to buy the motors. |

Cool; yup the motors usually go for quite awhile, it's the track design. Now I'm encouraged to do my rear windows....

Oh yeah, glad you didn't break the glass like I did...come to think of it, that's why my repair was so expensive.

Re: POwer windows cable problem 94 MG
Just had to be very careful as that was my real concern [breaking the glass]. Dealer did tell me it the regulators as they are called are a HIGH use item. They sell a lot of them. Good revenue maker for the Automakers and dealers so no need to improve it.
