old kill, new story

so i decided id throw in an old kill story. its not a great kill, nothing to really be proud of, but its the best story. all my other street stories go like this "pulled up to a light, saw car, he revved, i revved, we raced, i won/lost. repeat".

this one is an actual story, though ill have to give you a little background.

i drive a 91 prelude si (140 hp, 140 torque) with the basic intake, headers and a full custom exhaust. nothin fancy, but its fun and somewhat quick. i run neck and neck with stock 240 SX's, so i assume the mods have given an extra 20 hp and torque. like i said, not much, but its fun.

now, i got this car in my junior year of HS and had all the mods half way through my senior year (and its stayed like that since... ). and just after i installed the headers (last mod) this punk i know got a 95 MX-3 (rated at something like 85 HP and 100 torque) and proceeded to rice it out. flame orange paint, big wing, stupid huge rims (18's i think) and a stupid grapefruit launching muffler. the only good thing is that he paid for it all himself, which is respectable.

so one day, after laughing at this car every day (and talking major shit about it) i see this crownd gathered around it, hood up and all. so i mosey over to see what the deal was, and he had just installed a nitrous kit with a 50 hp shot (smart kid, engine probably couldnt handle a bigger shot, and im surprised it held this one) so i looked around, noticed everything else was stock (including intake surprisingly) and so i walked away laughing.

apparently he took offense to that and started talking alot of shit about me and my car the way HS kids usually do, and i reciprocated cuz i was looking for a race, but could never find him on the street and he didnt go for the track. i assumed that if i talked enough shit, he'd come find me. we never really got along anyway cuz i kept going out with the girls he wanted. anyway....

he finally finds me in the cafeteria at lunch one day and tells me if i want to run, he was going to be at the street races that night, and i should come. (his original statement contaned many more cuss words and insults that arent appropriate). so i did a quick math check (85+55=150, which was what my car does stock, plus his is an automatic, no prob) and i agreed to show up and run him. and of course, i told the whole crew to bring their friends...i wanted everyone to see this.

so we get there and pull up together and i see him tell his girl to get out of the passenger seat and he had previously lowered his tire pressure....scared little kid. the flagger dropped his hands and we went. we jumped the line fairly even (i dont launch hard at all, as clutches tend to be fragile and im poor) and i started pulling, as i should. he stayed rather close through second (i assume he was spraying from the start....zex kit) but half way through third and my back was even with his front, and by fourth he was about a car length back (so said my friend, i wasnt paying attention to him at that point) so i pulled off and returned to the other side of the street to park. he then wheeled up, looked pissed, told me i got lucky and any other day he'd beat me. i laughed, waved him along. he picked up his girl and left.

no great shakes beating a shit car, but its a good story i guess

Re: old kill, new story

Great story. I feel like doing that to soemt of the people that go to my school... one kid drives a del sol with a 2 ft boeing wing and a riceboy muffler... and more riced out civics than I can count.

My honda may have less displacement than your coke bottle, but I'll race your coke bottle for $1000. Who says there's no replacement for displacement?
