what type of performance parts should I get?

Well a couple of people I have been talking to said to get an older model Eclipse/Talon/Laser. I was just wondering if I went with a '91 Eclipse or a '91 Talon what parts would get me going faster and how much money am I looking at? Is it possible to do an engine swap for more hp? I wanted to go with a Civic at first but now I think i have changed my mind. So I know more about what to do with a Civic than I would an Eclipse. Someone please fill me in. In case you cant tell i am sort of a Newb to this.

Well, this is an easy one...Go with the DSM. You don't need to do a engine swap. The motor on either of those cars can take up to 400hp, with stock internals! If you were to upgrade the turbo, intercooler, intake, exhaust, injectors (You really don't need to worry about the bov, the stock one is pretty good. All you have to do to make it withstand more boost is crush it.) etc etc...you could easily take anybody out. Especialy if you got the AWD model. If you buy the 91 models, just get a compression test to see that every thing is ok. Don't worry about the milage, I know people that have 150k+ on their motors, and still pulling twelves on the track. Hondas are too played out. In order to make those fast you would have to spend twice the cash flow, and it would still be slower than the DSM. And don't even consider an engine swap. Be smart when if you want to go fast. Cops look at two things...sound (which hondas are loud as hell) and vin numbers. If you get pulled over with a JDM motor (which isn't even worth it) thats it, no more car for you. Trust me man, there no feeling like launching in a AWD vehicle. It's like getting rear ended by a wrecking ball. So, if you go with the DSM, just change out the pistons to 95 pistons for better compretion ratio: 8.5:1. Believe me, its worth the cash!

Thanks for your opinion, but don't bring up 2 year old posts for no reason. Thanks.
