93 lumina.. weird.. just read :)

ok, first of all, thank you in advance for reading this

okay for starters my car is a 93 lumina, v6, automatic...

now... there is a sound i need to describe first off... imagine if you will that you are in a manual, and you've switched gears and go to speed up, only you've missed the gear and it just makes a loud rev noise... that's the noise i get

okay... as i drive and go to speed up i get "the noise".... it seems to hesitate a moment and if i keep my foot on the gas the noise will get louder.. my idle seems to be fine, no weird pings or anything, no knocks.. umm.. it may be a little higher than usual, but not much... also this problem just came out of nowhere.. it wasn't any sort of progressive problem, it just started doing it one day, and hasn't gotten any worse.. it's been about 3 weeks now.. and mainly it only seems to make this noise when i'm trying to speed up... so... whatcha think??? lol... if you need any more info then just ask, i'll be sure to answer it as best i can...

and once again, thank you

you need to change the fluid and filter in the transmission.
when was the last time you had a fluid change?
how many miles on the transmission?
also invest in a bottle of "Lucas Transmission fix".

I had the same problem and this solved it, it has been fine ever since.
My engine not starting that is another issue!!! LOL!!!

I think about $40 or something along those lines.

It depends where you go.

But i am not sure, I did mine myself.

Jiffy Lube charged me about $80 for a 1991 Olds Cutlass (same car as a Lumina Sedan) in Maryland...but I did it myself on my current lumina to save some money. Like decebal said, depends on where you go.
