belt or chain

does the 1998 dodge caravan SE/sport have a timing belt or a timing chain? i am planning to buy one and the seller says the thing has a chain, so no replacement is required. I thought these things have timing belts that need replacement avery 60,000 miles or so? which is correct? thanks a lot........

What size engine does it have? If it is a V-6 then it will have a timing chain and you will not need to worry about changing it as it should last the life of the engine. Also if it is a 4 Cylinder it may or may not have a belt depending on the design but I suspect that this has a V-6 and should be no problem on either a 3.3 or 3.8.

sorry about that. it has a 3.3 liter V-6 engine. so I don't have to wory about replacing a timing belt then? thanks.....
