0-60mph : 10 sec?!? WTF!!!

okay i was just checking my zero to sixty, admittedly using my stereo as the clock, and got 10 sec 3 times in a row!!! does that sound right? what does a stock accord do it in? in addition to the mods listed below, i just started trying to lose weight, and have stripped 160 lb out of the car. honestly i've never really been in a truly fast car, so when i hear about cars doing zero to sixty in like 5 seconds or 6 i thought it's pretty damn fast, but i didn't know it was that fast! is anybody else this goddamn slow? this has prolly been the most discouraging day since i got this thing

and i wasn't just hitting gas, i was holding the brake down and flooring it right before letting go of the gas, kinda doing the best 'launch' my auto can do

Get a better timer.

The times that are advertised on car and driver and stuff are real, but they are done in IDEAL conditions, new tires, perfectly straigh road, SEA LEVEL, good driver, ETC...

Were are you located?
A stock automatic accord 95 will do 0-60 in 9.2 seconds around there, so yeah its not a fast car dont worry.

elevation is 300 ft. is that enough to make a difference? i know it's not fast, but if stock is 9.2, and mine should weigh less, and has i/h/e + other stuff, it shouldn't be slower. i know the timer situation isn't the best, but i was hitting the ">>" button to advance to the next track, so it was pretty accurate, and i did it 3 times. i know i'm not off more than a second, in which case i still can't be better than 9, which sucks ass cuz that's stock speed

sometimes motors have "detuned" themselves after years of use/abuse.

However, I will say that the Accord does not exactly have blistering 0-60 times. Your elevation could have to do with it. Well, there's a lot of stuff that could go into it .

0-60 is a poor indicator of your mods effect really. At least go run a 1/8th mile pass or 1/4 mile pass at a drag strip with accurate timers.
