Question My 1998 S-10 Blazer has no Power?? HELP

Just brought a used 1998 S-10 Blazerw/108k and it has no power. On the highway the blazer would not go beyond 60mph. Any suggestion as to what I should do HELP???

The steering wheel has a lot of play?? any suggestion. The front- end has a lot of play ex. if I change lanes the blazer doen't feel stable it wobbles.

For basics inspect your air filter. Also, get an opinon on the condition of your catalytic converter.

steering play

The play in your steering is probably the pitman arm is wearing out. It is about a $100 bucks for the part. It is a little tough to change though unless you have the right tools. I took mine to a garage and they put mine on for $50.

2wd pitman arms DO NOT wear out, they are a solid hunk of iron..4wd pittman arms do wear out, but they are only 30 bux at most autoparts stores... If it's a 2wd the likely culprit is either the ball joints or the tierod
ends and or the idler arm (also 30 bux)

Re: My 1998 S-10 Blazer has no Power?? HELP

well the pitman arm I have has a bushing on each end of it that is pressed in. I got mine from Napa auto parts and it cost 128.79. If you know where I can get one as cheap as 30 bucks please let me know, a guy I work with also needs one.
thanx

You have the 2wd pitman arm, it doesn't go bad... Yes, it's pressed on to the steering box... What needs to be changed is the link from the pittman arm to the center link (if that is the problem) and it's about 20 bux...

The 4x4 pittman arm is only 30 bux and has the balljoint built into it...

here is a pic of a 2wd set up....
