Rap Dictionary Excerpts

In light of the "Fo shizzil my nizzil" thread I have taken the liberty of listing some of my favorite (kiwi=favourite) phrases and words that have come from the wonderful world of rap music.


ballin'
(v) Having it all.
bling bling
(n) Jewelry, derived from the sound it makes.
wack
1) (adj) Negative: crazy or weird. Mostly this is meant
2) (v) To kill someone. "So don't step to me 'cause you boys'll get wacked" -- Ice-T (Power).
chickenhead
1) (n) Any dumb person (usually refers to women unfortunately) who clucks (speaks) alot, and walks around aimlessly or without purpose (like a chicken with its head cut off). "Give me all the chickenheads from Pasadena to Medina, let B.I.G. get in between ya" - Total featuring the B.I.G. (Can't you see [1995]).
crunk
1) (adj) Hype, phat. "Tonight is going to be crunk" -- ??.
2) (adv) To get crunk: to have a good time. "Long as everybody get crunk in the drop" -- Lil Bow Wow (Bounce with me [2000]).
ends
(n) Money, derived from making ends.
player hater
(n) One who despises or speaks ill of another because he does not have any game of his own.
to get your swerve on
(v) A compliment of skill. If you are about to get your swerve on then you are confidently preparing to enter the conflict. If you got your swerve on it means you accomplished something skillfully.
gaffle
(n) To harass. Especially being "gaffled" by the police.
yo
1) (n) You.
2) (n) Your.
3) (interj) To catch attention, as in "Yo! What's up?"
dubs
(n) Car wheel rims.
blades
(n) 20 inch chrome car wheel rims. "Big pimpin' on B.L.A.D.'s" -- Jay Z. (Big pimpin').
watching Andy Griffith
(v) refers to masturbating. Martin Lawrence (You so crazy).

remember when people would say "peace out" back in the early 90's?? and they threw up 2 fingers?? remember that? well, instead of saying "peace out"...you say "deuces"...as in, deuce....as in 2....fingers...i hope that explains it

So its exactly the same as the old "peace out" except you just say "deuces"?

No offence to anyone who may use the term but....

Besides the fact that its 2 fingers, what the hell does the word "deuces" have to do with anything?

"Deuces" doesnt mean peace or good-bye.

Some things are not meant to be fully understood I guess.

yea, its kinda like that, except you put your hand backwards..as in your palm facing you. and then do it....and deuces means absolutly nothing but that. for example, "fo shizzle"....nothing. "my nizzle"...again, nothing. these words have NO meaning at all man, they just kinda make them up as they go. thats why its so funny. trust me on this one...

wow...Houston to Auckland?? holy donkey nuts dude. thats a big change is it not? and you said FOB!! lol....i laugh everytime i hear that word...or words....but umm, i live Arlington...near dallas (worst ebonics town ever)...but arlington is the really suburban neighboorhood near Ft. Worth....and yes, hispanics are funny...we all are. we make a good combo of bad language...

Yeah i was a HUGE change... (you think people talk weird there/!??!! haha come here and have a listen!!) But the country here is absolutely breathtaking!! (although i do miss chain 'o' lakes, lake 'o' the pines, and canyon lake! (ahhh the memories!)

You miss Houston? Today was strange, it was about 75 this morning and about 10 it dropped to about 57! Thats the thing i hate about here, its never very consistent! And its hotter than a buttcrack.
