My neighbor killed someone last night.

I was sitting here on the computer and I heard a loud bang, almost like a grenade explosion, around 11:30 last night. I was just getting ready to leave and as I was driving out of my neighborhood 6 cruisers, an ambulence, fire chief, and channel 4 van blew by me before I could even get out of the subdivision. Well I got home around 5am and his whole front yard was taped off, and a cruiser was still parked out front (and still is, a day later).

Turns out the guy who lived there came home through his garage and found two robbers digging through his apartment so he grabbed his shotgun. He came back in, they attacked him, so he blew one away. The other guy ran off and hasn't been caught yet, but the injured one died that night in the hospital.. scary shit.

I know a local cop (Columbus, Ohio) and he told me you can't just blast someone if they're unarmed or if your life isn't threatened. If I'm holding a shotgun and two theives in my home attack me, I'm pulling the trigger and asking questions later.

i know here in MN if someone is attacking you... you can shoot them, i went thru a conciled weapons course and they told me if someone is coming at me with the intent to hurt me i can shoot them! not suppose to shoot to kill but wound and stun! if they have a weapon then its shoot to kill!

I have always been under the impression that if they are in your house, you had better kill 'em because if you injure them they can sue! Here in Japan, firarms are not an issue, so we don't really have that problem.
