I have a 1998 Intrigue. Does anyone know how to disable the automatic headlights? It's not that I don't like the option, but I wish it was optional. The worst thing is pulling into the driveway late at night and lighting up the neighbor’s bedroom or backing in and lighting up the neighbor across the street. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Headlight Fix
My 1998 Intrigue's automatic headlights were disabled when I got them. I found that the previous owner had done this by inserting a blown fuse in the fuse box (auto headlights in fuse box). I imagine you can simply disable the auto headlights by pulling the fuse. The headlight switch on the dash worked fine even with the blown fuse disabling the headlights.

Re: Automatic headlights... can anyone disable this...
Thanks jmlangeveld!!! I pulled the DRL (daytime running lights) fuse and lo and behold not only were the DRLs not on anymore, but the pesky automatic headlights have finally become optional. Once again, I thank you and my neighbors thank you also!!!

My wife's intrigue has the opposite problem.... The drl works fine, but when they cut off at dusk the auto headlights do not turn on automatically.
The DRL fuse is fine, The headlights work fine via the switch. The sensor clearly works as it turns off the drls at dark. I am new to the forum, But I did a search and nothing turned up. The GM mechanic I usually deal with is also stumped. |

You don't have to pull fuses.....if you turn the parking lights on when the headlights are on automatically, it will override the automatic headlights and only the parking lights will be on.
