Surging RPMs 2001 Ram

I have a 2001 Ram with 82,000 miles 5.2 engine, The RPMs will surge 200-300 while idiling or driving down the road. Tried fuel additives, changed plugs. Any thoughts. Thanks

Re: Surging RPMs 2001 Ram

I have seen on several other forums that the solution is to have the dealer re-flash or re-load the computer firmware on the truck. Apparently this will resolve the issue as the mechanics will only check the obvious and state that they cannot find the problem. It should not cost you more than $50-70 at the dealer. Hope this helps!
