Re: Friend's Car.. Transmission info needed.

blue nice camaro is that a 87???? so what did u dooo when it blew out??? that kinda happened today as i was drivin it wasnt movin just makin that loud noise felt like i was drivin some kind of beast everyone was lookin it was so loud and i was goin really slow so it looked like i had some big engine cuz it wouldnt budge..sounded like i was goin 100 when i was only goin 25 maybe... but i brought it home and looked at the fluid and here it was low but i just filled it up so there most be a leak... but it was drivin much better after i added some fluid in.....i thought the tranny was finally goin..... how much u have to pay for a new one or did u get a rebuilt?

Tranny's rarely just "go" on a daily driver.. Its usually a gradual thing..
Tranny slip, knocking or loud ticking from the tranny.. Signs of your tranny on its way out! What it will do after its blown depends on what is broken in the tranny! After I blew my 700 last fall, I could drive fine as long as I didnt let the tranny shift to second.. Then with the crunching and grinding and the car stopping.. it was not a friendly noise

i think that is normal. every 700R4 of that generation has done that, or atleast that i've driven anyway. my friends did that, and i put in a corvette servo and problem solved. and that was after being rebuilt the previous year. my 700R4 does it, but usually only when shifting from 2nd to 3rd at over half throttle
