Hi All,
I have a 94 Achieva with a Quad 4. My alternator went out, but I can't get at the tensioner to remove the serpentine belt. Is there a special tool that I need, or a special procedure to get at it? I've never had any trouble changing alternators in other cars, but this one has been a stumper. Thanks in advance! Jed |

Re: Alternator Removal
For ~$?20?, you can get a tool that is a long 15mm (?13mm?) wrench that makes it easy to release the tensioner. I use a wrench and a 3/4" copper pipe with the end bashed down to fit nicely over my wrench.
