shift kits
Does anyone here have a shift kit on there car. I was thinking of going with the transgo shift kit or on that i saw on jegs from B&M. I was just wondering if any one had either of these and if they could explain to me exactly how it works. The transgo is like $100 and the other one is only like $50. I know u get what u pay for but i still would like some feedback from some one who has had one or tried one.

Re: shift kits
my 700R4 has the B&M transkit, with Hi-po clutch disks, high performance bands, and a stage two shift kit, along with a 2600 stall converter and a corvette fist to second servo, my feedback, SPEND THE MONEY!!!! oh man, theres no comparison. shifts are instant, no slipping, no lagging, its just BAM there it is. i love it. and yet it still has road manners under part throttle. its well worth the money.

Re: shift kits
They are both well known performance shift kits..And either would be a good decision
Make sure you get the proper stage shift kit though..

Re: shift kits
i recomend the B&M cuz thats what i have, and have no regrets.
difference in stages is difference in firmness of shifts, the higher number the stage, the harder the upshifts.

Theres also a stage recommended for towing, or hauling, and one for performance

Re: shift kits
I have a Transgo Performance shift kit (be careful on which Transgo you order they also have a kit that more of a rebuild than shift kit you want HD2-A) I also have a Corvette Servo and mild Torque Converter and I love it, The only problem I find is engaging 1st gear which could snap your neck

Re: shift kits
naw, its how you set it up when you install it. depending on what size some fluid passeges are, and what color springs you use in certain areas. im not really sure, i paid the trans guy at work to put it together for me

Re: shift kits
Yeah I used the harder racing settings when I installed my kit but I didn't think it would effect the car engaging 1 ST gear as that is usually offset by your torque converter but I did up the line pressure with the transgo kit and another person I know with the same kit and same tranny has the same thing so must just be side effect

Re: shift kits
so formula u set ur car on level three or what. Thats the firmest right. It allows complete manual control right? Isn't it supposed to drive like normal when in drive?

Re: shift kits
Your never suppose to manual shift Electronic tranny's shift kit or not. The advertising that you can control every gear manually only refer's to the 4l60 which can be shifted manually after the kit is installed but not the 4l60-E. Also yes I used the 3 washer for the firmest 1 -2 shift and the firmer springs in the Valvebody

Re: shift kits
Ohhhh. I like my 1-2 shift its already real firm. My problem is with my 2-3 shift. It pulls real hard in 2 but right at the end before it shifts it feels like it drags like it takes to long to shift but once it drops the gear bamm ur back in the seat and pulls hard again.
