ceased engine

My friend bought a XJ6 with a ceased engine for $350 in hopes to fix it and make it his main ride. I need some starters on how to fix the engine. All suggestions are appreciated.

It is an engine intenally like most. You can either rebuilt it, or convert it and put a 350 in it like I have done.
