In '86 as I recall Ford switched from inboard to outboard mounted drums. ALL the '88 and newer Frod trucks (E&F) have outboard mounted drums. So, with the brakes released, and some penetrating oil around the hub center, they should come off rather easily. If they are rusted, beat the H$LL outta them and they will either break or come loose. New drums are not that much money, certainly less than a days worth of fideling is worth. There are TWO different drum widths, 3" and 3.5" as I recall, be sure to get the correct ones if you are replacing them (shoes too!).
