does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

I have a 96 CS Sedan, i'd like to know if it has a speed limiter ? This car is situated in Israel, also what is the top speed of an Automatic 2.2 Litre ?

can it get to 120 ?

I believe it has a limiter set at 108.

Ditto, I hear 108 or 109 (what's the difference?) is all it'll do. I wounldn't want to be in my Cavi that fast. Maybe with suspension mods, a roll cage, and a helmet for my big head.

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

you dont take the limiter off untill you have brake and suspension upgrades.

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

I hit 108 in my 1997 2-door cavalier about 2 weeks ago and there were no problems. Then last week I had 4 friends in the car and hit 103. It wouldn't go any faster because of all the extra weight. (about 700 pounds). No shaking, no rattling, and no odd noises on either of them. Well on my most recent one I heard a lot of "holy shit" being said.

By the way its a stick and I don't have any upgrades, and my tires are stock.

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

i have a sedan and i can't get it above 103. I'm not sure if it won't get there because its a 4 dr or whatnot. But i don't really care for it to go faster than that. I would rather turn heads than be fast. I don't need any speeding tickets. Come one guys don't we pay enough as it is?

Also, now that it is lowered...When i hit a bump, it hurts like a mother fu*ker at high speeds. I had it at 98 today and god damn!!! What a shitty ride when you hit bumps, but i am willin to sacrafice ride for looks. ;-)

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

i'm saying it goes 103 but i only put it 98 that day there ya fuckin tard. I wanted to see what kind of ride it had at speeds near that! I think you need to read things fully first!

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

i did read it dumbass, in one statement you say theirs no reason to go 103 MPH, you dont need any speeding tickets and you pay enough money. Then in the next your talking about doing 98 MPH. Does that 5 MPH make a big difference?

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

Me and my girlfriend were on the way to see her dad in prison and we hit the speed limiter in the 98 z-24 about a mile from the prison. It was perfectly stable, and I know because I've driven many cars at a much faster rate. If you want to go over 100 mph, it's all good if there's no traffic to slow down for, where you can just let go of the gas and the engine speed will slow you down.

Re: does the cavalier have a speed limiter ?

^^ BS!! GM made a limit of 108-115MPH depending on the year. ANd unless you changed the guage cluster on it you would have no idea you were doing 125 MPH cause the guages only go to 110MPH. And since you dont think their is a limit you obviously dont know what the VSS Mod is. Or maybe your one of those morons who bought a Venom400 or Jet Control Module. . .
