89 Suburban Fuel Problem

Have '89 Suburban that just 'went dead'. Unable to restart. Doesn't appear to be getting fuel and I suspect a fuel pump or fuel pump power problem. No fuses blown but when the connector that handles the fuel gauge and the fuel pump is separated near the tank I don't see 12 volts on the wire anywhere when the key is turned on. When I measure tank side of the connector with an ohmmeter, one lead gives what appears to be a very high resistance and the other is about 2.5 ohms.

I would have anticipated having 12 volts coming from the fuse block to run the pump but I didn't see it. Would like to avoid dropping the tank for practice if the problem is actually no power to the pump. Anyone have any suggestions?

Update: Pulled fuse block apart and reassembled. Now have power to fuel pump and plenty of fuel flow. Engine starts but will barely stay running and will not gain much RPM above idle without a lot of fancy pumping on the pedal.......
