I have a 95 z28 camaro that shelled a rearend, so i went to the junkyard picked out a 96 camaro v6 rearend and put it in my car and i can noticably feel the difference in acceleration off the line and it is definetly for the worst.

Re: what rearend gears came stock for camaros from 93-02?
Well there are 4 different gear ratios you could have got. 3:42 which was 6 spd only, 3:23 was the optional performance ratio for a4, 3:08 I think was standard, and 2:72 which was optional.
Check your RPO code list on you car... I think yours is in your glove box, but it could be on the drviers door. The GU? codes are the axel ratio codes. GU6 is 3:42, GU5 is 3:23, GU4 is 3:08, and GU2 is 2:72. Another way to give you a hint of which ratio is in your car. If it's an auto is if the shifter gate does not show a 1st gear then it has either 3:08 or 2:72. Check the car it came out of too, see what ratio is in it. You can also jack your car and count how many turns the drive shaft has to make before the wheel spins one turn. That should tell you the ratio. Quote:

I think the Majority of 96+ V6 cars came with a 3.23 open diff.
