FS: Dodge Ram Holset Supra turbo setup

THE GOOD

Up for grabs is my HY35 Holset turbo setup.

Originally found on the 98-99 Cummins Dodge Ram, this turbo was modified to fit the 7mgte Toyota Supra turbo engine! Why did I do this? To prove that there was a cheap boosting alternative to the commonly known expensive Japan tuners!

The kit that I am selling includes:

The turbo itself
Turbo intake (to mate with the stock air flow meter and vacuum hoses)
Custom exhaust elbow ( Uses stock Toyota o2 sensor and flanges, but bolts to Holset exhaust housing... see pics)
Exhaust Manifold adapter plates
Custom fabbed stock toyota exhaust manifold
All exhaust gaskets
The center housing (cartride) oil fittings to make a -8 oil return line and a -4 oil feed line work.
THE BAD AS IN BAD ANIMAL!

The turbo is designed to flow MORE THAN 25+PSI and the guys at Cummins Engine co have told me it was designed for 600+ hp.

I would immagine the a/r on the hotside is some where in the range of .80 or .90 and the cold side (compressor) is in the range of .65 or .75.

The turbo starts to build boost around 2500rpm but tends to come online quicker at around 3000rpm and above.

This turbo has not seen above 12psi!

The turbo has about 3,xxx miles on it so it is "fresh" but I have had problems with it...



THE UGLY... WELL SORT OF

This is not a turbo you DROP IN AND GO WITH. Its for serious tuners ONLY! I have had problems with oil control out of the front seal and boost creep problems.

The compressor does have side to side play, but it has no front to back play. There is NO EVIDENCE of the compressor wheel touching the compressor housing! The fins are not bent and not chipped. If you buy this turbo, you will notice if you take the compressor housing apart, that there ARE MACHINE MARKS IN THE INTAKE! This was done to accept a bigger compressor wheel!
