pics of a 95 that didnt get recalled in time, trying to fix, anyone have a map?
I bought a 95 that clipped a deer and was going to fix it up and use it, but then I found another one near by that didnt get recalled in time and had an underhood fire, I like the color and condition of the body much more with this one and I am going to pick up the fire car in a couple days, Im hoping to be able to leave the motor in and take plastic components and other needed parts off the first one I got. Does anyone have a map of the engine compartment of a 95? It would be very helpfull,
If youd like to see pics of what happens after the fuel rail goes bad go to http://homepage.mac.com/swestoyz/PhotoAlbum1.html |

Re: pics of a 95 that didnt get recalled in time, trying to fix, anyone have a map?
I've got a factory service manual, but I don't know how much help it would be. It's got pretty typical schematic type drawings saying what connects to what, but not really where in the engine compartment everything is routed.
I think you're in for a world of hurt if you try to leave that engine in place. I'd think you'd have an electrical nightmare since every bit of insulation in that engine bay has to be suspect. I'm not sure I'd let anyone pay me to try to make that 95 go again, but that's just me. I think I've just learned a healthy dose of respect for how complex and expensive it is to fix mine in the last 5 years. I still love it, but that's just scary to contemplate, especially when I saw a 98 with 102K miles for $5500 the other day for comparison. |

when I say leave the engine in, I mean the physical motor (everything inside the valve covers down), I intend to swap out the wiring, upper hoses etc, I will put some updates on here as I go, and am sure that I will have some questions as well.
Wish me luck!!!! |

Re: pics of a 95 that didnt get recalled in time, trying to fix, anyone have a map?
well I got it home, and have taken off the damaged master cylinder, radiator overflow, washer fluid tank, coil packs, wiper motor, cruise control, and so far its going pretty well. The wiring does look questionable in a couple spots. So my first question is, does the majority of the wiring run all the way back or is there junction points where I can remove from the other car and replace, the motor in the non fire car is going to be removed, and I am thinking about removing the motor from the fire car as well since the majority of things that appear to be in the way of pulling it have been removed. Anyway, if someone has some input of the routing of the wiring it would be appreciated!!!
