Question 4.8 or 5.3

ok, i need help choosing an engine size for my new truck. the 4.8 has 285hp and 295 tq and the 5.3 has 295 hp and 300 tq. the heaviest thing i will be pulling is my grand fathers 25' grady white fishing boat. wll the 4.8 handle this weight or should i go w/ the 5.3. Help!

no question 5.3 just test drive truckswith each engine. The 4.8 is guttless after you drive the 5.3

if towing, see about the 5.7. no substitute for cubic inches when dragging weight behind you................

you cant get the 5.7 in a truck unless its older and in that case the 5.3 out tows and performs it

the 4.8 isnt slow by any means. but if you're gonna be doing alot of towing, get the 5.3 for sure.

5.3 has 330 lbs-tq, and in 2005 in extended cab and crew cab models, it gets bumped to 310 hp.

I have a 4.8 and love it. I have pulled decent size boats with no problem. I am sure the 5.3 is stonger, but no complaints from the 4.8 from me.

noonoonooonoonooo get the 5.3 or 5.7genIII or 6.0 do not get the 4.8 youll be beggin for more power later trust me
