Paint Question
well i was redoing my porsche 911 in black. when i painted it silver i put a clear on, so i did a light sand, and when i painted the black it cracked and got all ripply, any ideas why thnx

yeah, if you put like laquer over acrylic, it may have cracked. you didn't put the paint on too thick did you? just a guess.

Did you give each coat enough time to gas out between coats?

thnx for all teh replies. The porsche has been done for about 2 months. I jus sprayed one coat of black and it cracked. You guys can delete this post tho i fixed it

Heres the problem. You are applying an Acrylic Lacquer (or other lacquer based product) over an enamel paint. Thats a pic no-no. When lacquers are applied over enamels they cringe.
