Does anyone have experience lowering a 1997 GMC 4 X 4 (not Z-71) It's the extended cab with a short box.
I am not going to off road this truck at all the 4 X 4 is just for winter driving and I want to drop the truck 3” in the front and 4” in the back or a little more. What kits work best and where to buy them? I see Jegs has some lowering kits, is that the good stuff? Thanks for any advice... |

I believe Belltech has a kit for the 4x4. Althought I can't find it on their website. It's gonna be more difficult to lower the front end b/c of the driveshift. There will be some cutting invovled more than likely. Visit a few local shops and talk to them. The most you will be able to find in the way of a drop is a 3 inch in the front. The rear will be as simple as a 2x, just shackles and hangers.
