What shade of blue is the LM Roadcar....

I'm about to convert one of my UT 1/18ths over to the blue road car and need to get an automotive spray that most closely matches it.

I have sen a BMW 330 Ci Sport in a very similar blue but am not sure how close it is.

European cars only thou.

Cheers.

The only place I have seen the name of that color listed was in the Christie's auction description. They referred to it simply as 'Metallic Blue'. Not much help there...

If I was going to do what you plan to do, I would probably go with 'Ford Racing Blue', the color of the Focus RS. While not exact, it is quite similar and also has some color changing properties when exposed to different light sources.

Good luck with your project and be sure to bring us some photos when it's completed!

I'd say the audi blue or a lighter focus RS.

This is too light

this doesnt seem to be reflective enough

cant find any that match it well, must be quite expensive paint

The Rs Focus blue looks too dark to me . A Neighbour has one and it just isn't right.

The Audi doesn't look metallic enough.

And I agree that perhaps the BMW does look a touch light but in real life it isn't as light as in the picture.

I saw a new Nissan yesterday in something pretty close thou.

Yeah - that was probably a Daytona Blue 350Z. That would be a fairly good compromise.

While I'll agree in most cases that the Focus RS blue appears a little dark, it does have it's moments as evidenced by this photo:

I'm not really trying to argue it one way or the other, but the shot that was posted already is not at all representative of the actual color of the car.

Chassis #011 was sold last summer by Christies Auctions in London. I believe the car stayed in Europe somewhere and it's new owner remains an unknown.

It wasnt me who saw it. It was my mom she went on a business trip to london last year. When she took a tour of the country she saw it. She visited the factory. Unfortunatly she couldnt drag me along cause it was mostly a business trip.
