I need an opinion about my 360 amc
I recently bought a new remanned 360 for my 71 jav. sst
and I ran into major problems. I just installed it and put oil and water in it and the water ran right into the oil. I started tearing it apart and this is what i found. what do you think might have caused this crap.?? I only ran it for 10 minutes

Re: I need an opinion about my 360 amc
My guess would be the block was allowed to freeze with (at least some) water still in the cooling system.
If this block was not yours before rebuilding, I bet the rebuilder took this block in on an exhange and they didn't pressure test the coolant passages. While this kind of damage is repairable it may be more trouble than it's worth, given the availablity of 360's. I think the rebuilder owes you an engine. |
