Engine Temp ?

My 2001 alero with a v-6 runs in between the middle and last dash that is before the H.... about 5/8 the way up. I dont run the a/c as it dont work anymore. Anyway to get both fans to cut on quicker and stay running longer.....

Re: Engine Temp ?

Mine does the same thing. They just run a bit hotter in traffic than other vehicles. I thought it was an issue, but I took it to the dealer and they even showed me on a used 04 V-6 that in stop and go traffic they tend to heat up. I wouldn't worry too much unless the light on the temp gauge comes on.

Re: Engine Temp ?

About the only way to stop it is to get a 180 degree thermostat and a computer reprogram to kick on when the temp reaches 180.
