Changing starter in Galant GTi 1990 4WD

My friend just bought this Galant that has problems with the starter. Sometimes it just won't work. We are sure that we need to change it, but it seems to be in a very stupid place. Can't reach it from anywhere, not even under the car. Anyone has any suggestions? The engine is DOHC 16v and is placed "sideways". Thanks.

Its located under the intake manifold right? just unscrew the 2 bolts push it out wiggle it around while pulling it and it will come out
