RB36DETT... What the hell.

Is the cylinder wall thick enough for that?

Re: is it possible

Ah.

Not sure why you would want to...

You've gotta think gear ratios. If your ratios are set for a very low HorsePower setting... And you slap on a 300+hp engine, you'll either burn out your gearbox, or run out of RPM very soon.

What Im saying is that it would be a pointless project, to me at least. Maybe some of these guys would disagree with me... Any opinions?

It would be able to be put on, depending on the clutch. The early R32 RB26s used a push clutch like the others, but the late R32 RB26s and up use a pull type clutch. So you may have to change the type of clutch.

That just answers the question of it being possible. Now is it something you want to do, NO! The only transmission other then the RB26's that you would really want to consider is the RB25DET's, that's the trans required for the RWD swap when the RB26 is dropped into an S13/S14. The RB25DE trans isn't geared to use the power correctly, and the power of even a stock GTR and going to quickly wear it out. Not to mention they usually reinforce the casing of the turbo transmissions.

It will bolt straight up. You'll need to change the sump pan on the RB26 though as the factory one has a hole through for the front axles.

The clutch isn't super important as even a good single plate with 2150 lb clamp and a 5 puch ceramic/ceramic paddle clutch will hold up to about 500hp. It is the same clutch I'm using and is one of the cheaper price units that I know of. I can launch my GTR at 7,500rpms with no slippage yet is nice enough to drive in heavy traffic, hill starts, and has a good life. I've gotten just over 30,000 kms (18.600) miles out of mine, and have made over 70 hard launches and is still going though getting a bit tired now.

Ok so we've all decided it is possible...

Now would it be smart to do? In your opinion Razor?
