sorry haibane i have an opposite view on this head unit.. because i just got it, i upgraded from an alpine 9807, and i can tell you.. that unless your upgrading from a pioneer, dont get it, the pioneer hu's have loading times, they skip randomly, the bass engine is not as good as alpines, but the 13 band eq is good, i have been messing around with it, now the vocals are more noticeable than the bass, but if you have an alpine right now, DO NOT get this hu, you will feel that it is a downgrade, since replacing the alpine there are of course some unfriendly features, but i think for the same price (what like $330 on ebay?) you can get the alpine cda-9833 imo it is much better than the 860.. just my thoughts

Re: preimier 860

^ thanks, that was a real addition to this topic.

I don't know a lot about that particular headunit, but in my experience, if you are going to go high end (and spend $330 or better on ebay), go with the alpine, people love them so much for a reason

Re: preimier 860

yeah I know, it was. This forum is full of disrespectful assholes that think they know everything about Vehicles and audio. But I guess I have turned into one of those people, becuase everytime I have asked a question on this forum, I get nothing for help, all I get it a bunch of smart asses with nothing to add to the posts, so I decided to join in. Then when I do join in I get your kind of reply. Fuckin asshole.

I sense a little hostility here ..........

gonenuts .... some of the "questions" on here are really just looking for opinions - I prefer not to get into that area. Others are looking for input about a particualr car or peice of equipment no one has any experience with. So you may not get a helpful response.

gonenuts, calm down, that was just some sarcasm, anyways about what you said tho, from my own experience, i can tell you that alpine is better than pioneer, just the quality of the head units.. my alpine never skipped, always did what it supposed to, and my new pioneer (860mp) is actually worse than the alpine, alpine has no loading time for mp3s, pioneer does, the alpine actually goes to a random song when you set it on random and press next, the pioneer goes to the next song.. when you have it on random and you press next.. jus... if you get a head unit above $300.. go with alpine, pioneer isnt' even on the same level

Re: preimier 860

lets see, I have no loading times for MP3s, I have had no skips, I have no problem with random songs, and the sound quality is excellent. So either I have a head unit that is one of a kind or your full of shit.

Re: preimier 860

You cant even jump to the conclusion that Pioneer beats Alpine, especially considering they both have other products than just head units. I would love to see a Pioneer sub and a Alpine sub side by side. Any speakers actually...my Pioneer 6x9s make me sick when listening to rock.
