S27 1/24 Viper GTS-R Le Mans 2000

Just curious if anyone has built one of these Studio27 1/24 Viper GTS-R Le Mans 2000 kits?
I have one on the way from Japan and am wondering if there is anything in particular to be aware of beforehand.
The kit was payment for some online articles I submitted as requested by Modeler Site - http://www.modelersite.com ( One article ran in last month's online issue and there is one this month with 3 more articles to follow ).
I am VERY anxious to get started on this kit. I've built more than my fair share of resin kits in the 30+ years I've been building, however I haven't had the pleasure to build one of the S27 kits. Every one I've seen, though, has appeared to me to be of excellent quality and they seem to build up into exquiste replicas!
Hopefully it will be here within the week!

An excellent quality kit! I built one a couple of years ago now, from what I remember I didn't have any major problems with the kit, I wrote a brief review together with some pictures for the old scale modeling gallery here at automotive forums, when I get home from work I'll post the link here so you can go straight to that page.

Re: S27 1/24 Viper GTS-R Le Mans 2000

First off, thanks Vric for the link!

And Steve............VERY cool build up of that kit!
I see you mention in your review about the hood stripe decals and getting them to settle down into the vents. Did you use a decal solution? I know some decals react badly when you use MicroSol or MicroSet.
What about at the rear? That area looks to me like it was definitley more challenging to ge the stripes around the rear panel and vents.

It also seems that the white decals are actually WHITE! I have seen a lot of white decals, when placed over a red surface, turn out looking pink!

The pics will be great references when I start on mine ( like I need ANOTHER project to start on! ).

Thanks for the help guys!

Dave,

The white stripes were very good and do not show any hint of red through them, I used Micro Sol on them without any problems, from what I can remember the stripes around the rear section were in several pieces rather than just one like the on the bonnet, so it was a lot easier to do the rear.
