sohc or dohc

i just wanna know one more thing about my ecu i have a b16a in a 95 civic ex coupe the ecu i have is supposedly for a dohc b16a motor but i am having doubts ... the code on the ecu is 37820-p28-a52... the guy tells me that the "a" in the a52 means it is for a odb1 b16a motor and a "b"52 is for the sohc does any one know of a web site that has all the info or does any one know themselves... thanks

Re: sohc or dohc

All Honda ECUs have a part number which is located on the side of the ECU and inside the ECU on the connector. e.g. 37820-P72-A01

The part number consists of three components:

-Honda's part number for ECU, which is always
37820
-Three characters (which are loosely related to
the model of car/engine). e.g P72
-Three characters (which are the revision of the
ECU) e.g. A01

Re: sohc or dohc

yes because the p28 is a sohc vtec and the p30 is a dohc vtec. maybe that's the problem why your car isn't running like it should.

Re: sohc or dohc

i have a question, ive been doing some research, and with the budget i have, it seems that the 1.6L DOHC NONE VTEC!!!!! is the best choice, i found out that my 91 hb is easy to do that swap in it, but if i want to go with b16, or b18, i gotta get special mounts, and there is also some wiring and welding, cutting ect that i have to do, anyways.... what is ur opinion on this?
