CD Cases

Just a quick ? Are cd jewel cases ok to use in place of sheet styrene for flat panels? I have a nerly endless supply of jewel cases, but Hobby Lobby quit carrying any styrene. I know it's way to brittle to follow curves, but I think it will work if used flat. Any comments?

Well, I just cut out the floor pan of the CLK DTM and replaced it with jewel case. I will probably make parts of the center console the same way. So far, So good.
